We would love to integrate with as many active community extensions as possible, but this is 2 sides work, if they don’t contact us, not much we can’t work to integrate with them. CB and JS have stated what they needed from us from day 1

This is planned for when joomla 1.6 appears, as it will have custom groups management nativelly, so we avoid having 2 different groups management system. Meanwhile you can use your joomla ranks to have private forum for them.
In Joomla! 1.6 the new user access system is wonderful... but are we still going to be able to have management level icons, etc., for the forums themselves, more like attaching an image to a custom access level than actually having a separate system for them?
I think one solution that might work is a more extensible profile display which allows information from CB, JS, etc., to be displayed as a portion of the user profile. For example, the "Hello Me" module might be an extreme version of this... whaddya think?
